Barcelona - Tolouse (400 Km)


An international Solar Rally !

We invite you to test and share your knowledge and technology in a strategic route across the Pyrenees between Catalonia and Southern France! You'll find an enriching and friendly atmosphere among the participants of the Rally.

What is the "European Solar Rally Phebus"?

The "European Solar Rally Phébus" is a rally in which only Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) or Local Zero Emissions Vehicle (LZEV).

 During the rally the vehicles involved must not emit any gas considered by the European Community as pollutants (NOx, CO, S, etc ...) or any gas involved in the greenhouse effect (CO2).

The essence of the rally is that vehicles, which are recharged with renewable energy, are the most efficient (kwh / km), and in contrast, does not value the power of the vehicle as in conventional Rallyes.

The "European Solar Rally Phébus" makes long journeys, as well as steep slopes (the Pyrenees), in order to improve the vehicles performance, year after year.

 The "European Solar Rallye Phébus" wants to accelerate the R&D of ZEV and  LZEV vehicles, in order to slow down the climate change and detach from the constant increase in of fossil fuels prices.

Distance (about 400Km) and program:
  • May 29th (afternoon): UAB-Sant Adrià / Badalona: about 30 km
  • May 30th (Morning): Badalona-Montmeló about 30 km
  • May 30th (afternoon)-Montmeló Circuit de Catalunya-Montmeló: 25 km
  • May 31st (morning): Montmeló-Montornès-La Roca-Coll de Parpers (340m) - Argentona - Mataró: 50 km
  • May 31st (afternoon): Mataró Mataró-Port: 10 km
  • May 31st (afternoon-evening): Mataró-Perpignan (Towed stage)
  • June 1st : Perpignan - Toulouse: 250 km (Non Stop Phebus !)
  • Total planned km: 400

Participants:

This Rally is designed for all types of vehicles driven by solar energy: Prototype solar electric vehicles, electric bikes, etc..
recharged with the energy produced by the sun (or other renewable sources) at the different stops. Participants are registered in different categories, depending on the type of vehicle. Hybrid vehicles are allowed.

 Organization:

 This Rally has been organized annually since 2000 by two associations (Phébus-Ariege and Volt-Tour) and has the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia (local government) and some different public administrations from the south of France, as well as town councils and private enterprises.

Registration:

Please, download the registration form in PDF format and fill it in with your data.
Contact Volt-Tour with our  contact form adding the subject "Registration Phebus 2009" and your contact e-mail. You will soon receive an e-mail to which you will be able to address your form.  Registrations may be received until may the 8th.
